Clay Explorers Club
A creative pottery club for home-educated children
Service Description
A welcoming pottery club where home-educated children can explore clay, imagination and creativity in a relaxed studio setting. Sessions focus on process over perfection, encouraging children to try new techniques, make mistakes, and discover what clay can do. Each week the tutor will explain how to make or paint something, from cute monsters to festive decorations! But the children are free to explore their own ideas and let their imaginations run wild. Children and adults alike are encouraged to make as much as they like and if you choose to keep and fire your work it is charged at £3 per item (one item included in class price) paid on the day. If you don't want to keep anything we just recycle the clay for the next session! Items have to dry put completely and so take approx 4 weeks to fire ready for painting and approx weeks after being painted to be fired again ready for collection. We encourage you to book multiple sessions during this time, spending a few weeks or so making, then you have lots of paint in one go! If you can only attend one session, don’t worry! We can clear glaze your pieces, this runs on a similar time line of 6-8 weeks for collection. All ages welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult, who can join in too if they'd like to! Please come expecting to get a little messy, clay likes to escape when we're having fun.
